:Untitled:

Hey. It's been a while since my last entry. Kinda like.. a month? Well never mind that, since I always haven't had the time to update anything. It's been quite a busy, annoying, irritating month but hey, I think I've done a great job getting through it...Maybe..

Lets see... Last time i wrote about those precious things of mine. Well, the keyboard has been posted to Pulau Pinang, the speakers, COD with this guy at Tesco Ampang, and the RAM, posted to Cyberjaya. What about the LCD? Still with me. Somehow managed to save this one. So know I'm in front of my PC, with my good old white-yellowish seasoned keyboard, with a half broken AVF headphone. As long as I can still do my works perfectly, then that's fine.
Quite a tough month I would say, with tests, assignments that haven't been done yet, thinking about the project thingy, and other personal stuff. Still got few tests in the following week. Assignments.. I'd rather not thinking about it much. Didn't even bother doing it yet, so hey, please don't ask too many assignment questions, trust me, haven't done anything yet. hahaha.

Some updates of my project. For the past few weeks I've been experimenting on the turbine and motor, and just got a laser digital tachometer to read the RPM.

Here are some picture of our hand-made turbine. Not so fascinating, but we thought we did great on this one.
The water pump can only spin the turbine until approximately 500RPM max. Nowhere near from using a car altornator, obviously. Even the DC motor needs few thousand RPMs to start generating some power. So we've been cornered to our last resort, building our own generator. WOW, how's that? sounds cool! Must be really easy to make. Yeah right.
It's kinda hard to find the suitable magnets here in Malaysia. I talked with few people, and most of them suggest bulk order from US. Which courier alone costs few hundred RMs.
So I managed to found someone who's selling 6 pieces of NDFeB Rare earth magnets at RM25 each. Quite cheap you know. That guy was planning on doing the same thing as me, building own generator, but he abandoned the plan, and sold his magnets. COD with his friend at Cheras.

Yah those are the magnets. Super Strong ones. I mean, Super Duper Strong ones. Got two of them stick together, then I don't think it would be that easy to seperate them. Paan's finger experienced that once, and you should see it, having some skin torn apart just like that. Trust me. heheh.

Building the armature(the disk holding the magnets) and the stator(the disk with the coils) is quite hard, considering our lack of budget, tools and experiences, not to forget-KNOWLEDGE. But i think we managed to do it so far. Right now still studying the calculations for the coil-windings. HERE is an example of how it should look like.

Okiee have to get back to work. Hopefully can do some test this morning before i fell asleep. Have to start doing other assignments later on. Thanks for spending your time reading, Till next time.
