Hello again... I finally managed to run away from college, from all those reports, even though it's only for 3 days. currently posting this entry from Kg Padang Air, K. Terengganu. My excuse to come? Well.. it's suppose to be my cousin's wedding and also my ex-lecture, Ms Farida at Bukit Besar today. Don't know yet either I'll be coming or not. Kinda boring to go anywhere alone. heheh. Tonight might be going to my old friend's place. Haven't seen him for some time. Even me myself haven't come back to Terengganu that often. You know, every time I came back here in this house, it sure bring back memories. I used to live here through out my last high school years (form 4-form 5). Have been doing silly and stupid things with my gud-ol' pals back then. You can say this place is quite peaceful. This was also where I started to drastically start my interest towards computers, learning and experimenting, using all the opportunities I had.
So, any updates on the project? Well.. I could say the project was completed already, even though the output isn't as expected. The demonstration was on last Thursday. Man, the night before, and the morning was so frustrating, with this and that, but we managed to bring the "thing" to the mechanical workshop right before 2PM. The final presentation will be on 26th June, while the Final-hard-covered-report submission will be on 29th. And hopefully that would be the end of it. Just to remind myself, the project would never been completed without the help of my brothers, parents, friends, and of course, all the helpful team members. Thank you very much for all your support and guidance and also your corporations in completing this project. Hopefully all your efforts would not be in vain. AH! also, not to forget, my beloved Saitek Eclipse2, and Logitech z-640. I won't forget your sacrifices!
Now, mission to find Keropok Lekor for some classmates, begin!

:Untitled:
Hey. It's been a while since my last entry. Kinda like.. a month? Well never mind that, since I always haven't had the time to update anything. It's been quite a busy, annoying, irritating month but hey, I think I've done a great job getting through it...Maybe..
Lets see... Last time i wrote about those precious things of mine. Well, the keyboard has been posted to Pulau Pinang, the speakers, COD with this guy at Tesco Ampang, and the RAM, posted to Cyberjaya. What about the LCD? Still with me. Somehow managed to save this one. So know I'm in front of my PC, with my good old white-yellowish seasoned keyboard, with a half broken AVF headphone. As long as I can still do my works perfectly, then that's fine.
Quite a tough month I would say, with tests, assignments that haven't been done yet, thinking about the project thingy, and other personal stuff. Still got few tests in the following week. Assignments.. I'd rather not thinking about it much. Didn't even bother doing it yet, so hey, please don't ask too many assignment questions, trust me, haven't done anything yet. hahaha.
Some updates of my project. For the past few weeks I've been experimenting on the turbine and motor, and just got a laser digital tachometer to read the RPM.
Here are some picture of our hand-made turbine. Not so fascinating, but we thought we did great on this one.
The water pump can only spin the turbine until approximately 500RPM max. Nowhere near from using a car altornator, obviously. Even the DC motor needs few thousand RPMs to start generating some power. So we've been cornered to our last resort, building our own generator. WOW, how's that? sounds cool! Must be really easy to make. Yeah right.
It's kinda hard to find the suitable magnets here in Malaysia. I talked with few people, and most of them suggest bulk order from US. Which courier alone costs few hundred RMs.
So I managed to found someone who's selling 6 pieces of NDFeB Rare earth magnets at RM25 each. Quite cheap you know. That guy was planning on doing the same thing as me, building own generator, but he abandoned the plan, and sold his magnets. COD with his friend at Cheras.

Yah those are the magnets. Super Strong ones. I mean, Super Duper Strong ones. Got two of them stick together, then I don't think it would be that easy to seperate them. Paan's finger experienced that once, and you should see it, having some skin torn apart just like that. Trust me. heheh.
Building the armature(the disk holding the magnets) and the stator(the disk with the coils) is quite hard, considering our lack of budget, tools and experiences, not to forget-KNOWLEDGE. But i think we managed to do it so far. Right now still studying the calculations for the coil-windings. HERE is an example of how it should look like.
Okiee have to get back to work. Hopefully can do some test this morning before i fell asleep. Have to start doing other assignments later on. Thanks for spending your time reading, Till next time.

Saying Goodbye...
Wuh, haven't made any entries for quite a while. Well, quite busy with all these stuffs going on (mainly cause of the laziness). Quite a lot happened lately, financial, emotions, studies and so on, luckily I can still manage to go on.
Let's see the progress of our final project. Erm last time I mentioned about a metal workshop or something. Well their works are totally crap, rubbish, useless____(insert anything you think is reasonable here). heh. I told them to divide the disk into 10 EQUAL parts. Even elementary kid could do that. 360deg divided by 10, equals to 36deg. simple math. You should see what they did. Total bullshitness. I think I'll post the pictures later, comparison between their so-called "profesionals" and our amature works. Yeah, we make it ourselves, and I'd say it's ten times better.
Handling an energy conversion project (mechanical to electrical) is quite tough for me. Having to think this and that, considering we've actually no experience in this field. Which means the need for experimenting. This alone costs few hundred Ringgits. So first we decided to use a simple RC car 12V DC motor. cheep enough, but the gears kind of cost a lot. Then purchased a 5000 l/hour water pump. after seing the pump's performance, i had this feeling that we could actually succeed with our actual vision, which is to use a car alternator. My main doubt before is it won't reach the required RPM, maybe around 1000-2000 RPMs, to power up the alternator. And also the starting torque, might be higher than expected, which results in the turbine not even moving. Fabrication of the casing is in progress, hope to finish it soon enough, before next Wednesday. the casing alone cost around RM300+. Since our group's financial limit, i don't think we could be able to buy an RPM meter, multimeter, and forget about car alternator and battery. Which would cost approximately rm500.
So, I've been thinking and thinking, and finally dicided to let go some of my precious stuff. precious stuff that I am proud to own it before. Very hard to let go, but I still have to make this sacrifice, Just to prove my theory on the Generator project. You can say it's a gamble I'm making. But to think of it, those stuff, I can still buy again later, or even better ones, but if I fail this subject, It'd cost me a bomb to extend my semester. And that is a total NO NO. NEVER.
What are these stuffs I'm talking about?
You can actually see almost everything in these two pictures.
1. Benq FP94VW 19" LCD.. Used this for more than a year already. It really helped me with my multi-taskings and gamings and everything. Trade with a 17" CRT monitor with some topup.
2. Logitech Z-640 5.1 Speaker. The center, front and rear speakers are all on the desk. The sub is right under it. Bass is quite strong, with the surrounding 5 channels. Really hoped It'd stay longer. Tomorrow will COD with the buyer at Ampang point.

3. Saitek Eclipse 2 Keyboard. One of my favourite. Backlighted keys, the design, hand rest, I can't believe I'm actually letting this one go. Tomorrow will post it to penang.

And finally, Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2X2GB) 800MHz. this kit can go from 800 to 1200MHz approximately. Quite high. The only ram that helped my Athlon X2 3800 F3 go till 3.3GHz. One of my greatest achievement. ahahah. Sadly one stick is faulty. Haven't have time to send back for RMA. Might COD with someone from N9. This one is yet to be confirmed.
Can't believe I'll be seperated from these.. especially the keyboard and monitor. But then, this is for the best. Hopefully one day I'll get my hands on them again. It took me days to purchase each one, doing researches, reviews, but it only took me less than 4 hours to make the selling deal.
I guess this will be my last entry using this keyboard, displayed by this LCD, while listening to songs from this speaker. It's quite sad to accept this, but yeah, everything happens for a reason.
Now I'm back to CRT, headphones, and old-yellow keyboard! hahah.
Ahh. Look at the time. 4:51 a.m. Still haven't finish updating the website yet. stuck at few things. And got midterm exam at 2:30 pm. And guess what, I haven't even read a single page. I'm still confuse why people still ask me this and that when I'm not even studying anything yet.
Getting quite sleepy already. Hope I can go through the notes few times before I end up sleeping on the floor. hahah. After exam finish, I'm going home. Yippee. Will be picking up a cake at semenyih first. Will explain the cake next time. Better get going now.
Lets hope for a better Today.

Windows Se7en (7068)
Went to see the progress of our so-called "turbine" fabrication at this metal welding shop around Nilai. Still not finished yet. They asked us to come again the next day, which is today. So went to Seremban with pa'an, for the sake of CENDOL! Cendol haji Sharif. Pa'an said it's one of the best cendol. How we found this cendol? haha. Everything started on last Saturday. I was from KL, borrowed my father's car, went back to Mantin, pick up Pa'an, and went to the metal welding shop. Actually they said it should be finished around Saturday. Went there, and they gave us the bad news, to come back on Monday, which is yesterday. Hahah. Dissappointed, so we went to chill ourselves at AS-Salam near Inti College. Damn, Inti College is huge. haha. Might pursue my degree over there. Don't know yet. Then got this idea, going to Leman Dawi Cendol at senawang. haha. Hey, it came up on Majalah Tiga once. So i guess it's worth to try. So from Nilai, went directly to Senawang, accross all the traffic jams and all, and right after we got there, "CENDOL DAH HABIS!" was written on the gate. Ahahah, another dissapointment, that finally drove as to Seremban, and found Cendol Haji Sharif. Since we're searching for cendol, and found this one, so why don't have a try? Cendol campur is quite good. Cendol pulut, Cendol bandung, and ABC HSC(Don't know what HSC is) i think is okay. haha. Ok, enough story of cendol.
Just got another laptop to be formatted around 8.30 PM. Cool, at least got something to eat this week. hahah. Streamyx's ultimate lameness gives me this annoyance since the past few months. Downloading drivers took forever! arrr. So while waiting for the damn thing to finish, heck, let's start thinking about our final project - The hydroelectric generator. fuh, sounds coooool. but not in reality. Haiyo, the pulsar pump theories and all, couldn't 100% figure out yet. After some moment of total blank-ness, i noticed something. utorrent download list, Windows Se7en has finished downloading! burnt it, and start installing. ahaha. But accidently fell asleep during the installation of both windows se7en on my pc, and windows XP on my customer's Laptop. haha. Woke up this morning, and realized I've wasted few hours by sleeping. So continue the installation. and now, here we are. First time in Windows Se7en. Lets put some screenies.

Tadaa. windows Se7en. almost the same with windows Vista. But still have few differences. Like the taskbar, and no more sidebars. They are just desktop gadgets now.

woot! RAM scored 7.1?? haha. haven't got that high with Vista.

Live thumbnails. A bit different from Vista. It shows all the windows for each application. And for IE, it shows every tab you open.
Media Player 12, Inter Explorer 8, kinda cool, but still alike with vista. best thing is it has all the drivers for my mobo, and my 8800GT. hah cool. Just that my Sound Blaster audigy card is not installed yet. Currently downloading... and you know, SCREAMYX.
hoh, look at the time. Got to go to the workshop now. hopefully everything's already done. hahah. Till next time.

The start of an end.
Yay, finally decided to make a blog. Didn't have that much interest towards blogging before, even now, so, forgive me for any lameness occurred. haha.
So... Lets start with the most basic, the Introduction. People may call me whatever they like, either Is, Islah, invi, or any other names you can possibly think of (which of course, has anything to do with me). Turning 21 this year, and currently in my final sem at Pertama Institute of Technology (ITP), HND in mechanical Eng. A bit obsessed with CUBES. Well, that's all for a start i think. Let's see what i'll be writing next time. hahah!
